🎨 Work in Progress

Welcome to my creative corner, where you can follow along as new paintings take shape. From the first sketch to the final brushstroke, I love sharing the process behind each piece.

🔹 Current Project

Fireside Reading (Work in Progress)
This original acrylic painting brings to life the warmth of a cozy fireplace surrounded by shelves filled with books, magical details, and whimsical treasures. Still in progress, Fireside Reading blends storytelling and imagination through every brushstroke, offering a glimpse into a world where comfort, knowledge, and creativity meet.

A detailed drawing featuring a fireplace with masonry bricks, surrounded by bookshelves, decorative items such as candles, a fairy, a witch, a crystal ball, and dragon heads.

🔹 Image 1 – The Sketch

Every painting begins with a vision. For Fireside Reading, I carefully sketched the outline of bookshelves, a grand fireplace, and whimsical details like candles, creatures, and magical objects. At this stage, it’s all about building the foundation and mapping out where each story will unfold on the canvas.

A large, partially painted board with detailed illustrations and text sections around the perimeter, including dragon heads, a witch, a tree, and various symbols and writings, with a fire place in the middle.

🔹 Image 3 – Building Depth & Texture

"As the shelves filled with more color, textures, and shadows, the library setting began to come alive. I focused on layering to create richness in the wood tones while leaving room to bring in the smaller details — each book, object, and symbol waiting to tell its own story."

🔹 Image 5 – Characters & Symbols Emerging

In this stage of Fireside Reading, the shelves truly begin to tell their stories. Stained-glass windows glow with color, a curious black cat in a purple hat makes an appearance, and magical symbols like the cauldron, tree of life, and celestial designs bring enchantment to the scene. Each detail is carefully chosen to spark imagination — as if this cozy library is alive with both wisdom and wonder.

Preliminary sketch of detailed bookshelves with various sections, illustrations, and text, including a stone archway, dragons, fire, and decorative elements.

🔹 Image 2 – First Layers of Color

With the sketch in place, I started laying down the first washes of color. The warmth of the fireplace mantel began to take shape, anchoring the composition. This stage is exciting because the painting moves from idea to reality, where imagination starts to peek through the lines.

Colorful hand-painted bookshleves with various sections, illustrations of dragons, a pentagram, a fairy, a cat, a crystal ball, and other decorative elements, with a large uncolored central area for a fire place.

🔹 Image 4 – Adding Character & Details

"This stage is where the magic begins. The bookshelves are now dotted with vibrant details — a bird in flight, a glowing candle, a cauldron, and other touches that give the space personality. Every element is chosen with care to create a sense of wonder, as if the shelves themselves could whisper stories by the fire."
